Glenn Brown introduced me to Michael Jordon during the recording of No Reaction ( featuring Jim Janota on drums and Jeff Goddard on bass) to sing backing vocals on a couple of tunes. When the album was released we decided to play a show in support of it. Glenn recorded this gig on 8-track reel to reel and this is a rough mix from a cassette he gave me. I'm still struck by how great this band was (and unfortunately, short-lived). Janota is a powerhouse and the interplay between the guitars and bass tight and loose all at once. Michael, Glenn and I have managed to stay in touch over the years and play in Glenn's basement with Jim McGathy handling the drums. Always love playing together and grateful they still wanna hang out with me. Maybe someday this will get a proper release along with the studio recordings we've done over the years at Glenn's studio.

Such a fun demo, glad I discovered this version when I did. Also love Chris' track, even though he kinda sounds like Ed from Ed, Edd, n Eddy at times hahaha (no offense Chris, love ya man). I love Equalized, Split, and Better Half, but Caroline is such a cool track with that killer bassline. huskers_fan99

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
